About AMFM Mental Health Treatment
AMFM Mental Health Treatment goes beyond traditional mental health care by providing a more personalized residential treatment experience for women and female-identifying adults. The 8-bed program in McLean provides 24/7 support for depression, anxiety, trauma, schizophrenia, personality disorders, self-harm, and other mental health conditions. Treatment plans combine individual and group therapy, psychiatric care, specialized therapeutic groups, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) also available as a treatment option.
Develop Skills for Long-Term Stability
AMFM helps clients manage symptoms, process trauma, and rebuild daily structure through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), psychodynamic therapy, and other approaches. Clients typically attend 3 or more specialized groups daily, 2 individual therapy sessions weekly, and weekly psychiatry and case management meetings. Bimonthly equine therapy, music therapy, a Reiki masterclass, morning yoga, and physical fitness or movement therapy twice weekly add experiential and mind-body support.
Supporting Wellness Beyond Therapy
Up to 8 women and female-identifying clients stay in single- and double-occupancy rooms in a bright, spacious home with communal areas, private therapy rooms, and in-house fitness equipment. Meals prepared by a master chef and 2 sous chefs include dietary accommodations, with Food as Medicine specialty groups also available. Weekly experiential weekend outings with peers give clients opportunities to spend time together beyond the home, with nearby destinations including Clemyjontri Park, Tysons Corner Center, McLean Community Center, and Great Falls Park. AMFM helps clients transition from residential treatment to their partial hospitalization (PHP) or intensive outpatient (IOP) programs when additional support is needed.
