AMFM Mental Health Treatment

What brought me to A Mission for Michael was I was in a really dark place, and I was in a psych hospital for about a week, and I tried different facilities, and just nothing was really working. I knew that I needed a higher level of care. I was not as hopeful. I was like, it's another program like am I is this going to work? Is am I going to get better? And never did I think, oh, not only get back to baseline, but I'm actually going to be happier than I ever was before. So, I was a little intimidated at first. I knew everyone's kind of nervous when they first come in just cuz it's a new setting. And everyone was super welcoming, though. My favorite part was the relationships I made during my time there. Not only just with staff, but my peers bringing us together. We're all in kind of a really hard time in our lives, but we were able to connect and know that we're in it together. And the staff also was extremely helpful and knew we were in this hard time in our life and did made sure went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable, that we were receiving the services that we needed to thrive. The variety of different therapies that we got was really helpful. We always had something to do. I think the variety made it not only interesting, but it made it exciting knowing each day isn't the same, that we got to learn new aspects about ourselves, mental health treatment, my body, health, and spirituality. And it was all very impactful in helping my mental health journey. My time spent in A Mission for Michael got me to where I'm at today because I was able to use the tools and resources that they taught me through treatment in my everyday life. It taught me that I need to be honest with myself and my the mental health professionals if I really want to get the help I need. And it's a great facility. It's beautiful homes. Beautiful people run it and it actually gets to the core of like your mental illness. I end up getting the treatment I need and I'm in the place/mental health state I've always wanted to be at, that I knew I could go back to, and not only go back to, but I'm better than I ever.
