BHG provides outpatient treatment for adults managing opioid use disorder, including prescription opioids, heroin and fentanyl. Care begins with a full assessment of each patient's substance use history, health needs and recovery goals, then combines medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) with counseling, recovery support and care coordination. Treatment plans are tailored to each patient's needs, since no two patients start treatment from the same place.

Get Daily, In-Clinic Support

BHG Washington DC Treatment Center provides an opioid treatment program (OTP) for adults who need closer monitoring during recovery. While the facility remains open until 1 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. weekends, daily medication dispensing runs from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday–Friday and 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. on weekends. Care combines methadone or other medications with counseling and recovery support services delivered through regular visits, letting the care team track progress closely and giving patients extra structure and stability early in treatment.

Work with an Experienced Care Team

Physicians, nurses, counselors and peer recovery specialists welcome every patient into their care, providing treatment with dignity and respect at every step of the recovery process. This team guides patients toward healthier routines, repaired relationships and stronger, more stable lives, for themselves, their families and the communities who depend on them each and every day.

Build a Strong Foundation for Recovery

Across BHG's network, patients report meaningful improvements during treatment:

  • 92% experience improved quality of life and mental health
  • 83% report decreased substance use
  • 60% secure employment within their first year of care.

Recovery support continues well after initial treatment through case management, community resources, family involvement and ongoing encouragement as clients celebrate milestones.
