Sandstone Care Rockville Mental Health Center, in Rockville, MD, treats depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health conditions in teens ages 13-17 and young adults ages 18-35. The program uses evidence-based, age-specific care that addresses the challenges unique to each age group. Levels of care include a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP), both based near Washington, D.C.

Address Mental Health Conditions with Age-Specific Care

Clinicians treat depression, anxiety, trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and borderline personality disorder (BPD). Treatment combines individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help clients build lasting coping skills tailored to each age group.

Choose Flexible Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Care

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) meets several days a week for several hours a day and typically lasts 2 to 4 weeks. Clients can then step down to the intensive outpatient program (IOP), which offers evening hours over 8 to 12 weeks to work around school and job schedules. Teens and young adults also receive academic and vocational support from a dedicated advisor.

Build Ongoing Recovery with Family Support

Licensed clinicians, medical providers, therapists, and academic support staff work directly with parents and loved ones throughout treatment. Families attend weekly multi-family groups, and individual family therapy meets every other week to address boundaries, communication, and emotional expression. After treatment, clients can join an alumni community that offers ongoing connection to local mental health resources.
