Mission Prep Teen Treatment
About Mission Prep Teen Treatment
Mission Prep provides structure, treatment, and hope for adolescents ages 12 to 17, supporting sustainable change and giving families the fresh start they need. Mission Prep’s Eagle Mountain Road home in Bonsall offers care for male and male-identifying teens struggling with primary mental health conditions. Built around individual therapy, family involvement, and experiential care, the 6-bed residence keeps groups intimate while creating a genuine sense of community.
Build Skills through Weekly Therapy
Each week brings two individual therapy sessions, one family session, and two clinical mentoring sessions, using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to build coping skills. Licensed clinicians integrate Rock to Recovery music therapy, yoga, gardening groups, and nutrition education to round out clinical care. Sessions target anxiety, depression, trauma, and mood disorders through a steady, predictable rhythm.
Settle into Active Daily Life
The 6-bed home offers double-occupancy rooms, with single rooms available when space permits, along with quiet study areas, shared lounges, and scenic outdoor spaces to relax and reflect. Chef-prepared daily meals nourish residents, while staff-supervised screen time helps them unplug and focus on healing. Biweekly surf therapy, monthly skateboarding, and weekly outings, from beach trips to go-karting, give teens active outlets to practice emotional regulation and connect with peers.
Prepare for Life after Treatment
A biweekly family program, a Wednesday family support group, and weekly individual family therapy sessions keep parents and guardians actively involved throughout treatment, equipping them to support their teen long after returning home. Clinicians design tailored discharge plans around each resident's specific diagnosis and home environment, establishing community referrals and follow-up counseling well before residential care ends.
