About Mission Prep Teen Treatment
Mission Prep provides structure, treatment, and hope for adolescents ages 12 to 17, supporting sustainable change and giving families the fresh start they need. Mission Prep’s Silver Spur Road center in Rancho Palos Verdes offers intensive outpatient (IOP) care for teens struggling with primary mental health conditions. Built around individual therapy, family involvement, and master's-level academic support, the outpatient center allows teens to receive specialized clinical care while continuing to live at home.
Build Skills through Structured Therapy
Each week brings structured clinical groups, individual therapy, and family involvement using evidence-based modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Licensed clinicians incorporate experiential groups like Soundtrack to Healing, Cinema Therapy, Coping Skills, and Breaking Cycles to round out clinical care. Sessions target anxiety, depression, trauma, and mood disorders through a predictable after-school schedule.
Balance Daily Life with Outpatient Care
The Silver Spur Road center features modern group spaces and dedicated study rooms staffed by master's-level educators. Teens attend group therapy and academic blocks Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., returning home to practice new skills with family. Life skills courses, educational mentoring, and structured routines give teens active outlets to build emotional regulation and stay on track in school.
Prepare for Life after Treatment
A biweekly family program, a Wednesday family support group, and weekly individual family therapy sessions keep parents and guardians actively involved, equipping them to support their teen at home. Clinicians design tailored transition plans around each student's progress and educational goals, establishing community referrals and outpatient step-down care well before formal IOP programming ends.
