About AMFM Mental Health Treatment
AMFM believes in going beyond traditional mental health care, offering a more personal, deeply compassionate healing experience. Their care delivers results: 87% of AMFM clients say they'd recommend the program, according to the company's 2025 outcomes data. That standard shapes the men's residential program in Dana Point, where a maximum of 6 clients receive care for depression, anxiety, trauma, and other primary or co-occurring conditions.
Develop Skills for Long-Term Stability
Men learn to manage anxiety, process trauma, and rebuild daily structure through individual therapy 1-2 times weekly alongside group sessions that include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). Weekly psychiatrist meetings guide medication management, while twice-monthly equine therapy and weekly yoga help calm the nervous system between clinical sessions.
Recharge at a Harbor-View Retreat
Up to 6 men share large, updated double-occupancy rooms with calming interiors in AMFM's Dana Point home, each near a private therapy room reserved for one-on-one confidentiality. An on-site outdoor pool overlooks Dana Point Harbor, while outings to Doheny Beach, twice-monthly equine therapy, and weekly yoga at a local wellness center keep the days active. Chef-prepared meals accommodate vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and kosher needs.
Receive Tailored Long-Term Support
Discharge planning starts early in a client's stay, and clinicians can help arrange a step down to outpatient care so the transition home happens gradually rather than all at once. Aftercare plans may also include ongoing support groups, continued therapy check-ins, and medication management, plus family follow-up counseling and alumni events for those who want to stay connected after care ends.
