About Horizon Recovery - Whispering Wind Outpatient
Horizon Recovery Whispering Wind Outpatient in north Phoenix, Arizona, offers partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient therapy for kids, teens, and young adults ages 8 to 21. It treats depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, and substance use, plus compulsive use of social media, phones, video games, and artificial intelligence (AI) companion apps. Clients come from home, from a hospital stay, or from a residential program.
Get Care While Living at Home
A licensed clinician leads every group. Therapy includes individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and life skills. Kids and teens in PHP and IOP stay enrolled in an accredited school, and Arizona families can attend by telehealth. The clinic is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with visits after 5 p.m. by appointment or for enrolled groups.
Move Between Levels of Care Without Starting Over
Horizon runs three residential homes and two outpatient clinics, so clients can move up or down a level of care without switching programs. Their records go with them, and families don't have to retell their story. Care coordinators handle scheduling, outside providers, and insurance paperwork.
Meet the Clinical Team
Dr. Mona Amini, MD, MBA, a board-certified psychiatrist, is Horizon's medical director and leads one prescribing team across every level of care. Dr. Amy Serin is the director of neuropsychology. Her protocols are the basis of Horizon's Neuro Program, which uses a quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) brain map and neurofeedback.
