About Advance TMS - New Windsor
Serving New Windsor and the Hudson Valley, Advance TMS - New Windsor provides non-invasive brain stimulation for children and adults, with a double board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist overseeing care. The team evaluates each patient’s symptoms and brain activity before choosing a treatment approach. Depending on their needs, patients may receive Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy (MeRT), accelerated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), or light-based transcranial photobiomodulation.
Brain Mapping to Guide Treatment
Before MeRT begins, the team uses quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) brain mapping to measure brain activity and an electrocardiogram (EKG) to check heart activity. Clinicians use these findings to shape and adjust the magnetic stimulation protocol. MeRT typically involves 20 to 30 minute sessions, 5 days a week for about 6 weeks. For eligible adults with depression or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), accelerated TMS delivers multiple sessions over a shorter period, offering an alternative to a standard multi-week TMS schedule.
Additional Brain Health Services
For clients who may benefit from a non-magnetic option, the team also provides transcranial photobiomodulation. This treatment uses low-level red or near-infrared light on the scalp and may be used for brain injury, post-COVID cognitive symptoms, and other neurological concerns. The team determines the treatment plan and schedule based on each client’s evaluation. Clients can contact the New Windsor office to discuss available treatments, insurance coverage, and next steps for starting care.
