About Newport Academy North Carolina - Male Residential
Newport Academy’s North Carolina location treats teenage boys ages 12-18 in gender-specific homes. They address a wide range of conditions and challenges, including mental health conditions, drug and alcohol use, trauma, and eating disorders. They strive to treat teens as a whole, addressing their mind, body, and spirit throughout recovery. Newport Academy involves family for wide-spread recovery and provides robust on-site academic support.
Personalized Recovery for Teen Boys And Their Families
Teenage boys begin treatment with an assessment to properly gauge their needs and treatment requirements. From there, a personalized care team, including counselors, nurses, a psychiatrist, and a dietician, continue to meet the needs of each teen. Newport Academy uses attachment-based family therapy (ABFT) to help rebuild familial relationships. Individual and group therapy connect patients to themselves and their peers, helping them build new coping tools and regulate their emotions.
Healing The Mind And Body
Newport Academy creates individualized treatment plans that include music and art therapy, yoga, meditation, adventure therapy, and various evidence-based therapies. Teens attend group and individual therapy, outdoor group activities, and equine-assisted therapy. Specialized services for eating disorders includes dietary care from certified dieticians and clinicians, mental health treatment, and fun experiential activities. Their location in North Carolina offers adventure therapies and access to nearby parks and nature preserves.
Accredited On-Site Academics
Newport Academy keeps teens on track with their school, offering tutoring and individualized schooling programs. On-site teachers incorporate academic progress with therapeutic care, giving teens a safe space to learn and heal. They have a fully accredited curriculum, provide SAT and ACT preparation, and help teens apply at colleges. Staff stay in communication with home schools and help teen boys smoothly transition back after treatment.
