About Crossroads Children and Mothers Program (CAMP)
For more than 50 years, Crossroads has provided hope, healing, and gender-responsive addiction treatment for women, mothers, and families across Maine. Their Children and Mothers Program (CAMP) is a specialized residential treatment program for pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and women with young children seeking recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Women-Centered Environment
Unlike traditional residential programs, CAMP allows mothers to remain with their children during treatment while receiving comprehensive addiction and behavioral health care in a supportive, women-centered environment. Through onsite housing, licensed childcare, parenting education, counseling, and family-focused services, mothers can focus on recovery while strengthening parenting skills and family relationships.
Healing at Any Stage of Pregnancy
CAMP serves women at any stage of pregnancy, mothers with children under age 5, and women working toward family reunification. Treatment includes individualized care plans, individual and group counseling, women-only therapy groups, parenting classes, relapse prevention, case management, and support for co-occurring mental health conditions using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches tailored to women in recovery.
Case Management Care
The program also provides case management and recovery support services to help women build stability during and after treatment. Case managers connect clients with OB/GYN care, medical services, housing resources, aftercare planning, and community support systems that promote long-term recovery and healthier futures for mothers and their children.
