About AKUA Mind Body - Newport Beach
Eastern Practices and Holistic Care
AKUA Mind and Body is a unique treatment program that incorporates both traditional and Eastern medicine practices in gender-specific housing The organization offers detox, residential treatment, and Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP). A typical stay including detox is 30 days. During treatment, clients participate in both group and individual therapy as well as life coaching. Therapies can include mindfulness, meditation, life skills, yoga, music therapy, sound therapy, Tai Chi, relapse prevention, and nutrition. Aftercare is extremely important to AKUA, and they offer an aftercare alumni program. Clients receive consistent aftercare that can include weekly alumni meetings, social events, and access to an alumni app.
Variety of Amenities
The AKUA Newport Beach location offers home-like accommodations. Rooms are well-appointed with light and airy designs and vaulted ceilings. There are 6 beds for detox and 12 rooms overall in each home. Clients enjoy nutritious meals prepared by local chefs. A private gym is available on-site for physical fitness, which is also stressed as part of treatment. A pool, sauna, and hot spa are also available for use.
