About Tree House Recovery TN
Operated by veterans, Tree House Recovery in Nashville, Tennessee, treats clients struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. They employ their mind-body method to create a holistic program that was created by Founder Justin McMillen. The goal is to “take the struggle of getting sober and use it to bond people together. In that struggle, there emerges a camaraderie made of trust, vulnerability, success, and support that feels like home.” Treatment bridges multiple levels of care, featuring a primary men’s partial hospitalization program (PHP) with housing, alongside a co-ed intensive outpatient program (IOP).
Follow 8 Connected Steps to Rebuild Mind, Body, and Social Ties
Instead of putting bandaids on symptoms, the Tree House approach looks at the root causes of addiction: physical breakdown and feeling isolated. They work to heal both the mind and body together using an 8-part curriculum:
- Addiction Education (learning how the brain works)
- Process Groups (talking things out with peers)
- One-on-One Therapy (4 private clinical counseling sessions per week)
- Writing Therapy (putting painful memories onto paper)
- Fitness Therapy (daily workouts to heal the body)
- ABIT (fast-paced, action-based team challenges)
- Yoga Therapy (learning to quiet the nervous system)
- Recovery in Action (building confidence for daily life)
Five days a week, clients sweat it out in group workouts. Forcing the body to move acts like a hard reset and can help fix broken sleep, lower anxiety, and cut through the pain of withdrawal. When clients face these daily challenges alongside other people, the focus shifts to what a person can handle right now, making it easy to realize they are not defined by their addiction.
Enjoy an Environment Designed to Ground and Support the Mind
Located right in the heart of Nashville, Tree House Tennessee is built to feel comfortable and welcoming, not clinical. Clients recover as a team, building social connections and hanging out together between sessions. The physical activities that happen here oscillate between high-energy, exercise-based group therapy and yoga classes designed to help heal both the body and the mind. Through practical mindfulness, breathwork, and grounding exercises, individuals learn how to quiet racing thoughts, balancing out the hard physical work of the day.
Access the Fitness, Counseling, and Tools That Keep Clients Grounded
Instead of rushing back into daily life, individuals can transition into structured housing for up to a full year, giving them room to hold down regular jobs without losing their footing. Through the co-ed intensive outpatient program (IOP), both men and women keep accessing the vital components of recovery: like group fitness, relapse prevention, and counseling, so they can rebuild their lives while being anchored to a community.
