About Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry - Austin (Research Boulevard)
Located in the Northcross Center near Research Boulevard and Burnet Road, off US-183, Thriveworks Counseling & Psychiatry Austin provides in-person and online therapy, psychiatry, and medication management for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Clinicians treat anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma/post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, grief, stress, relationship concerns, and other mental health needs. Scheduling staff is available daily from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. CT, while appointment times vary by provider. Some providers may have same-day availability.
Therapy and Psychiatry Services
Clients attend scheduled outpatient sessions instead of living at the center. They use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, motivational interviewing (MI), emotionally focused therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and strength-based approaches when appropriate. They also offer individual, child, teen, couples, and family therapy, along with Christian counseling, LGBTQIA+ counseling, grief counseling, and stress management. Psychiatric providers can evaluate symptoms, create treatment plans, and prescribe or manage psychiatric medications when appropriate.
Access, Scheduling, and Payment
Clients can choose online appointments to avoid travel or attend in-person sessions at the Research Boulevard location. Because treatment takes place on an outpatient basis, people can continue work, school, and family responsibilities while attending scheduled care. They accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, and also offer self-pay without a membership fee.
