Sanáhra Residencial Rehab Center

Away from familiar triggers, Sanáhra offers private residential care and medical detox in a quiet colonial neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, near the beach and downtown. Led by a physician medical director, its small, bilingual program of up to 9 clients addresses alcohol, opioid, stimulant, and prescription drug addiction. A traditional Sunday temazcal ceremony, a Mexican steam ritual for reflection and renewal, adds a signature touch.

Heal Mind and Body

Sanáhra's approach addresses the root causes of addiction, helping clients heal the mind, restore the body, and rebuild a life with purpose and connection. Individual and group therapy, grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), teach clients to recognize triggers, manage intense emotions, and plan for cravings. Yoga and deep tissue massage ease physical tension, while 12-Step meetings introduce a lasting recovery community.

Recover in Cozy Surroundings

Clients stay in cozy, air-conditioned colonial-style bedrooms, private or shared, with en suite or shared bathrooms. A house chef prepares healthy, family-style meals, and complimentary housekeeping and laundry leave clients free to focus on recovery. A garden and outdoor lounge offer quiet places to reflect between sessions, a library and fitness center fill free time, and airport transfers make arrival simple.

Stay Supported after Discharge

Care continues through in-person or online follow-up sessions, aftercare group therapy, relapse prevention planning, and a counselor available by phone. Former clients can return for visits and on-site meetings as needed. A recovery coach also guides the move back to family and work, helping clients build a support network, find meetings, and choose a sponsor, in person in the United States and Mexico or by video.
