About Coastal Counseling Center of Virginia
Serving communities across southeastern Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Coastal Counseling Center of Virginia provides outpatient therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychological testing, and telehealth for children, teens, adults, and families. The center treats anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, and other mental health conditions while serving Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Moyock, Currituck, and surrounding communities.
Building Treatment Around Each Client
Coastal Counseling Center of Virginia begins care with a one-hour initial assessment that identifies immediate concerns and guides an individualized treatment plan. Follow-up appointments typically last 45 to 60 minutes. Licensed clinicians provide individual, group, family, and marital counseling, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychological testing. The center promotes cultural awareness, values each client's perspective, and creates an inclusive space for care.
Services That Meet Changing Needs
Children and teens receive care for emotional, behavioral, social, and school-related concerns while families participate in treatment when appropriate. The center also offers post-divorce recovery services, psychological testing, and telehealth appointments through athenaTelehealth for eligible clients, allowing them to attend sessions from home. Licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed professional counselors (LPCs), psychologists (PsyDs), and licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) help clients build on their strengths and work toward the goals identified in their treatment plan.
