About Child and Family Center
Child and Family Center has provided compassionate care and vital services to children and families in need since 1976. Guided by its founding mission, the organization has expanded to meet evolving community needs. Their dedicated staff members serve children, youth, and families each month across the Santa Clarita, Antelope, and San Fernando Valleys. Services include prevention, early intervention, diagnostic evaluation, counseling, behavioral therapy, outpatient substance use treatment, outreach, and domestic violence support, including a 30-day emergency shelter for children, adolescents, and adults seeking safety and healing.
Building Skills for Healing and Resilience
Professional staff provide therapy in-office, at home, and through virtual services, offering individualized treatment plans that may include family or group sessions. Parents and caregivers of children ages 0–16 learn positive strategies to strengthen relationships and manage behaviors. Psychiatrists conduct assessments and prescribe medication when needed. Teens receive support for depression, anxiety, and substance use, while adults and youth access recovery programs and domestic violence services. The Pathways to Recovery program delivers outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for youth and adults, fostering resilience and life skills. Free or low-cost services, including domestic violence support and emergency shelter, ensure safe, supportive pathways to recovery and healthier futures.
Aftercare and Relapse Prevention
Child and Family Center provides aftercare support to help clients manage stress, cope with triggers, and prevent relapse. Its 30-day emergency shelter offers safety for survivors and their children, along with counseling, support groups, food, clothing, advocacy, and referrals to community resources. Through the Community Outreach Program, the center delivers school presentations on substance use prevention, parent workshops to strengthen family relationships, and interactive events for teens. By engaging families and communities, the center promotes healthy behaviors, resilience, and education to prevent problems before they arise.
