Center for Discovery Cypress has highly trained staff that use evidence-based techniques and has a holistic approach by treating the whole person. Types of treatments include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure & response prevention (ERP), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). At each Center for Discovery, they employ a certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS). Center for Discovery Cypress provides a binge eating treatment program called Path to Peace that works to discover a peaceful relationship with food and the body. They believe that clients are healthy at every size, and they are never weight-focused. Center for Discovery Cypress treats anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED), avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder, orthorexia nervosa, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Center for Discovery Cypress employs a registered dietitian, nurses, and a medical doctor. They are accredited by the Joint Commission and accept most major insurances.
Center for Discovery Cypress is located in a beautiful and spacious estate. The accommodations are intimate and home-like. They have shared bedrooms and bathrooms and can accommodate up to 8 clients at a time. The dietary program includes individualized menu planning and meal preparation, restaurant challenges, grocery list and clothing shopping, exposure and response prevention, hands on kitchen skills, and nutrition education.
