About The Meadows Ranch
The Meadows Ranch is a safe haven for women and young girls seeking help with eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, obesity, compulsive overeating, and related issues. The Meadows has a multi-prong approach including treatment for co-occurring disorders, staff trained in trauma work, and a focus on calming the mind to prepare patients to confront their eating disorders. The therapies used at The Meadows are acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), equine therapy, expressive arts, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), family counseling, group therapy, music therapy, relapse prevention counseling, and yoga. The Meadows Ranch offers inpatient and partial hospitalization. Patients are separated by age, so girls 17 and under are in their adolescent program and women 18 and older are in their adult program. The Meadows Ranch can accept patients as young as 7 years old. They can accommodate diabetics, a variety of food allergies, and vegetarian patients. A typical treatment program lasts anywhere from 45 to 60 days. Inpatient treatment provides care 24 hours a day. After an evaluation from a group of therapists, counselors, and psychologists, they devise a personalized treatment plan. The Meadows Ranch, creates a plan that is based on the patient's diagnosis, interests and personality, and usually consists of group and one-on-one therapy, educational sessions, along with holistic offerings like expressive arts, recreations, and equine therapy. The Meadows Ranch is accredited by the Joint Commission. They are in-network with a wide range of insurance providers.
The Meadows Ranch is in the serene Sonoran Desert. The ranch is spread out on 50 acres of land. There are horses, cacti, outdoor patios with sunshades, citrus and pomegranate trees, a pool and many other amenities. The bedrooms are completely furnished and are shared accommodations for 2 or more clients. At The Meadows Ranch they have horseback lessons and riding, cooking classes, and swimming.
