Samad's House
About Samad's House
“Samad” is an Arabic word often understood as someone who is steady, dependable, and always there when needed, an idea that reflects the purpose behind Samad’s House. Located within Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, this organization serves individuals in an urban neighborhood setting. It is a community based recovery home, offering a place where people can temporarily seek refuge while working on change. The goal is to provide a conducive environment where women, and parenting moms feel supported enough to begin reclaiming their life.
A Place for Women and Their Children
With 3 sober living homes created for women 18 and older, needing both housing and recovery support, including those caring for children, this setting helps balance treatment with daily life. Residents can attend outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP) or day treatment services for substance and alcohol use, with services that also include relapse prevention counseling and harm reduction support.
Grow Through Daily Skills and Support
Samad’s House equips women with essential life skills that support long term transformation. While living at the house, women can participate in cooking lessons and learn skills like budgeting, time management, and caring for children. They offer wellness and nutrition guidance and emotional and behavioral support to help women have a well-rounded approach to pursuing long-term recovery.
