About New Horizon Halfway House Sundowner
New Horizon Halfway House Sundowner is a supervised sober-living home in Randburg for men and women moving on from primary addiction treatment. It's one of three New Horizon houses in the area. Residents share a substance-free home with clear accountability and regular drug and alcohol testing, plus individual, group, trauma, and family counseling while they rebuild work and daily routines.
Rebuild Daily Life With Structure
Breakfast and dinner are served seven days a week, and housekeeping comes in four days a week, so residents can focus on recovery and work. The house has WiFi, a lounge, a dining room, a covered patio, a garden, and shared bedrooms. Staff also help with CVs, interview preparation, and replacing documents like an ID or driver's license.
Stay Connected to 12-Step Recovery
In-house NA and H&I meetings keep the 12 steps part of everyday life, and staff help residents find a sponsor. Most people stay three to six months, and some stay up to a year, depending on their stability and readiness for independent living. Counseling can continue after residents move out, keeping support in place as they settle into life on their own.
