As an affiliate of Yale School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry, their staff lead research efforts for mental health treatments and conduct clinical trials.

Accessing Treatment

Yale New Haven Health provides mental health by referral, and the referrals can come from primary care at Yale or another health system.

The Yale New Haven Health Psychiatric Hospital facility at 184 Liberty Street does in-person and virtual therapy. Parking for in-person therapy is $1 per hour for up to 7 hours or $20 per day.

Finding the Right Treatment Plan

The Yale New Haven Health Psychiatric Hospital presents clients with residential and intensive outpatient (IOP) care. Yale organizes specialized group discussions for clients dealing with similar issues. They emphasize meditation and mindfulness practices. In addition to talk therapy, some biomedical and medical treatments that Yale offers are ketamine injections, esketamine injections, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
