About The Maples - Fort Worth
Serving the residents of Fort Worth, The Maples is a 24-bed residential treatment center for girls ages 13-18 with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and mild to moderate substance use concerns. They provide 24-hour nursing supervision, psychiatric care, and medication management when needed. Treatment combines individual, group, and family therapy with nutritional rehabilitation and daily routines that address mental health and eating-related challenges.
Clinical Treatment and Daily Activities
Residents attend therapy using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. They also include equine therapy, art therapy, yoga, mindfulness, and life skills training. Registered dietitians develop meal plans, monitor nutrition, and guide food exposure exercises. Girls receive educational instruction to keep up with schoolwork while following schedules that include supervised meals, therapy sessions, and wellness activities.
Family Involvement and Recovery Planning
Residential treatment typically lasts 60-90 days, depending on each teen's clinical needs and progress. Families participate in therapy and education sessions to understand eating disorders, mental health conditions, and substance use concerns. These sessions address communication, coping strategies, and ways to manage challenges after discharge. Staff coordinate treatment plans with families to prepare teens for returning home and maintaining daily routines after residential care.
