About Palm Valley Behavioral Health
A calm, home-like setting shapes residential care at Palm Valley Behavioral Health, with the home accommodating a limited number of residents at a time. Stays typically last 30 to 90 days for adults with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. The program also serves adults stepping down from inpatient hospitalization who still need structured care before returning home.
Structured Clinical Treatment
Licensed therapists provide 1-on-1 sessions at least weekly, while facilitator-led groups take place daily. The clinical team uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and interpersonal therapy alongside psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Trauma-trained clinicians use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy, and somatic approaches. With consent, family members can also join therapy sessions, weekly education, and multifamily groups.
Residential Life and Planning
Residents follow a daily routine that includes shared meals, therapy, wellness activities, and quiet personal time. Phone and laptop access is limited to designated times, though the clinical team can allow more flexibility when needed. An executive chef prepares meals on-site, and residents can use a pool, putting green, fitness space, gaming room, and private outdoor areas. Case managers begin discharge planning early and help arrange next steps such as outpatient therapy, peer support, and community resources.
