About Genesis MBTC
Founded in 1969 as part of the Mission Teens network, Genesis Mission Bible Training Center welcomes men and women ages 18 and older who want to overcome substance use, alcohol addiction, and other life-controlling challenges Offered at no cost to residents, the non-denominational Christian residential program provides a peaceful, faith-based environment that emphasizes Biblical discipleship, accountability, and daily structure. Residents follow house rules, complete chores, study Scripture, and gradually earn additional responsibilities and privileges throughout an 8–10-month program divided into 4 phases.
Building Faith Through Daily Structure
Genesis MBTC centers recovery on Christian discipleship and practical daily routines. Residents spend about 5½ hours each day studying the Bible, attend chapel, sing praise and worship songs, pray together, and complete household responsibilities while building healthy habits and strengthening their relationship with Christ. As they progress through the program's 4 phases, they take on greater responsibilities, develop leadership skills, and prepare to mentor others.
Growing into Leadership and Service
The final phase develops leadership and counseling skills through supervised peer mentoring and daily counseling assignments. Graduates may continue into an optional 10–12-month missionary staff training program, where they teach and mentor future residents. Churches and individual donors fund the program, allowing Genesis MBTC to offer residential care at no cost while helping residents rebuild their lives through faith, responsibility, and service.
