Set in the Louisiana countryside, Eagle Lake Recovery provides men with the space, structure, and clinical support to step away from everyday demands and focus fully on recovery from substance use, trauma, and co-occurring mental health concerns. With a small number of residents, treatment stays personal and responsive to what each man actually needs in order to change, and what he wants his life to look like moving forward.

No two men arrive at Eagle Lake from the same place, and their treatment should not look the same. Waypoint is the individual path through treatment. Through one-on-one clinical work, each man explores the relationships, patterns, and beliefs shaping his life. The goal is not simply abstinence or symptom management, but greater self-understanding and a life that can be sustained beyond treatment. The Current is the shared experience, where group work helps men challenge old patterns, practice new ways of relating, and be both supported and accountable.

At Eagle Lake, the lake, open land, lodge-like setting, and quiet surroundings create space for reflection, movement, conversation, and rest. Residents share rooms and daily rhythms, cooking and eating organic, low-sugar meals planned by a certified nutritionist. A library, music area with a piano and guitar, gym, and waterfront porch offer places to recharge and connect, with the porch also serving as a lakeside setting for group sessions.

Build What Comes Next

Treatment has to translate into life after Eagle Lake. The Waypoint model gives each man clear areas of work throughout his stay—examining patterns, relationships, identity, responsibility, and the kind of life he wants to return to. Families are included in that process, and discharge planning builds the next layer of support through therapy, recovery community, sponsorship, and continued care, so men leave with a foundation strong enough to carry home.
