On 163 acres of Louisiana countryside, men recover, rebuild, and rediscover a life worth returning to. The 90-day residential program at Eagle Lake Recovery begins with medical detox and 24/7 nursing before addressing addiction and the trauma behind it, guided by two certified trauma therapists, alongside co-occurring conditions like depression and anxiety. Many arrive mid-career, businesses and families waiting, and graduate with the strength and freedom to live a full life of recovery.

Restore Mind, Body, and Soul

Eagle Lake Recovery approaches the psychological, physical, and spiritual layers of addiction together, with a clinical team trained specifically in trauma care. Individual and group counseling address each man's specific needs, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) supports residents working through trauma by addressing it at its source rather than managing symptoms alone. Nutrition coaching, daily fitness training, and spiritual counseling round out a truly whole-person approach.

Settle into Life on the Lake

Residents share rooms and have access to common areas that include a full kitchen, a stocked library, a balcony overlooking the lake, and a dedicated workout space. A sun porch off the main lodge looks out over the water and doubles as an area for group sessions. Outside, clients enjoy natural beauty and wildlife, including eagles, with plenty of room to fish, canoe, drive a side-by-side, and gather at fire pits.

Stay Connected after Graduation

Eagle Lake Recovery hosts a weekly Thursday night aftercare group open to graduates and other men in recovery, led personally by its CEO. Residents also connect with Louisiana's broader recovery community, from monthly Celebrate Recovery meetings on campus to outside 12-Step meetings and sponsor matches in nearby Ruston and Monroe. That network helps recovery persist long after treatment ends.

This center accepts patients receiving MAT prescribed elsewhere for opioid use disorder, but does not provide MAT.

Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.

Heal the Whole Family System
Heal the Whole Family System
Monthly educational intensives lead into family therapy sessions, held individually so each family gets focused attention. Families stay in close contact with their loved one's therapist through weekly updates and calls, with virtual sessions available as needed. Visitation happens most weekends, giving families a consistent, ongoing role in treatment rather than a single scheduled visit.
Confront Trauma at the Root
Confront Trauma at the Root
Two certified trauma therapists guide every course of treatment, working directly with each man's history of trauma. An EMDR specialist meets individually with clients each week, and a weekly men's group creates space to process trauma and related struggles, including compulsive sexual behavior. Together, these therapies help men understand what's driving their addiction.
Discover Nature, Art, and Music
Discover Nature, Art, and Music
A private lake gives residents room to fish and canoe, while walking trails invite quiet, reflective time outdoors. Art therapy meets weekly, and piano and three guitars sit ready in the lodge for anyone who wants to play. Residents have already turned out several finished bowls at an offsite pottery studio.
Fuel Recovery through Nutrition and Fitness
Fuel Recovery through Nutrition and Fitness
A certified nutritionist builds organic, low-sugar menus, which residents cook and eat together as part of daily structure. Fitness training and yoga run every day, giving the body real work alongside the clinical work happening in therapy. Many residents say they have never felt physically better than they do at Eagle Lake.
