Provider's Policy

Braveminds Academy works with several major commercial insurance providers on an out of network basis.

Braveminds Academy serves as a turning point for adolescent boys ages 11 to 17 who need more than what weekly therapy or outpatient programs can provide. This 16-bed residential program treats young men struggling with complex mental health conditions, dual-diagnosis substance use, or persistent thoughts of self-harm. Over a 30 to 90-day stay, the teams dive deep into the root causes of the struggle, providing psychiatric stabilization and 24/7 support.

Equip Him with Tools for Life’s Challenges

Bravemind’s approach is non-punitive in an environment where 16 boys get a high level of attention. By blending tools like internal family systems (IFS) and mindfulness-based stress reduction with experiential therapy, the program helps them move past anger or withdrawal and start verbalizing what’s going on inside. They are taught that while there will be good days and bad days, they have the power to handle both.

Create a Home Base for Healing

Located in a peaceful Florida setting, Braveminds Academy features semi-private bedrooms with only two beds each to make sure everyone has their own space while still having the support of a roommate. To keep the environment balanced and safe, roommates are always paired within two years of each other. Outside of the bedrooms, the home is built for brotherhood, featuring a backyard sport court for basketball and pickleball, and plenty of areas to relax.

Eliminate the Stress of What Comes Next

The team sits down with a case manager within the first seven days to start mapping out what life looks like back home, whether that’s setting up appointments with therapists, finding an outpatient program, or coordinating a smooth transition back to school. Even after the bags are packed, the door stays open with their alumni program that keeps the connection alive. Former students can check in, mentor current clients, and celebrate milestones at one, three, and five-year marks.

Testimonial
This organization changed not only my child’s life, but my entire family. They are all so warm and welcoming while also really knowing how to deal with children with all different types of disabilities. The care they show towards our kids and our family is beyond measure. We initially set up everything with Tony who made us feel comfortable and really explained everything. We walked into this very hopeful and we left overjoyed in tears. Thank you, Tony and your incredible team, keep helping all of our youth, they are our future!

Bridge the Distance between Home and Treatment
Bridge the Distance between Home and Treatment
Families stay in the loop with daily updates from a primary therapist via phone or email, coupled with weekly therapy sessions for parents and their son. While the program starts with a one-week blackout period to help the boys get acclimated, the schedule quickly opens up for regular phone calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays, along with visitations on Saturdays and Sundays.
Build Self Discipline and Confidence
Build Self Discipline and Confidence
Teenage boys thrive when they know exactly what to expect from their day. Braveminds Academy provides a consistent structure. It starts from the minute they wake up, focusing on making the bed, staying on top of their own hygiene, and meeting every morning to decide what they want to get done that day. By learning to budget time for school, therapy work, and meals, they master the art of self-regulation and take ownership of their own progress.
Keep His Education Moving Forward
Keep His Education Moving Forward
Monday through Friday, the guys shift from morning therapy right into a three-hour study block. By partnering with Florida Virtual School or working directly with each student’s home district, the program keeps them on track. An internal liaison takes over the stress of coordinating with guidance counselors and out-of-state portals, so no one has to worry about lost credits or falling behind.
Turn High Energy into Healthy Habits
Turn High Energy into Healthy Habits
Teenage boys aren’t meant to sit still for hours, so the program includes activities to keep their bodies moving. They can dive into a game of pickleball, hit the ice rink, or catch a yoga session. They even go on outings—everything from beach trips to bowling—so they gain a sense of brotherhood and clear their minds.
