About Active Recovery - The Retreat
Active Recovery LA’s Retreat for Women offers 28-day residential care for women recovering from substance use, trauma, domestic violence, and mental and emotional health challenges. Set on 30 acres near Lake Bistineau, the program combines structured daily treatment with outdoor activities, nature, and space to step away from daily stress.
Build Skills for Long-Term Recovery
Clients take part in group therapy, medication management, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, life skills, and outdoor groups. These services help clients understand patterns, manage emotions, practice healthier coping skills, and build routines that support recovery. Active Recovery LA also uses a non-12-Step approach based on its core recovery concepts.
Rest and Recover in Nature
The Retreat offers shared residential space with bathrooms, a kitchen or kitchenette, and access to wooded outdoor areas. Clients can spend time kayaking, walking trails, gardening, and seeing miniature horses, chickens, and a kunekune pig. The setting gives clients quiet space for reflection, movement, and connection during treatment.
