About ReConnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Center
ReConnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Center is a dual-diagnosis intensive mental health treatment program for adolescents and adults. They specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions by addressing underlying trauma using evidence-based methods. They treat co-occurring disorders such as substance abuse, sex addiction, and secondary eating disorders. Their compassionate and experienced staff provide trauma-focused and personalized treatment in an outpatient setting. ReConnect offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and individualized trauma treatment, providing 1-on-1 therapy with highly qualified therapists and trauma specialists. They also provide supportive housing where patients can reside during their treatment for clients who don’t live in the area or are in need of a safe living environment.
ReConnect specializes in treating a variety of mental health conditions using trauma focused care with body-mind oriented therapies to help clients reconnect with themselves after a traumatic experience. Their programs teach clients tools and techniques with therapies such as somatic experiencing and sensorimotor psychotherapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), brain spotting, neurofeedback, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), art therapy, acupuncture, yoga, and more.
Part of their unique and integrative treatment, they offer methods such as heartmath, a method that stabilizes the pattern of the heart's input to the brain to facilitate cognitive function and reinforces positive and stable emotions. Emotional freedom technique (EFT) is a tapping technique on acupuncture points to help relieve emotional and physical symptoms of anxiety. A method referred to as a resilience toolkit teaches clients skill building, emotional awareness, and mindfulness techniques that reduce stress and chronic tension.
As a dual-diagnosis treatment program, ReConnect can diagnose and treat several mental health conditions and co-occurring substance abuse or process addictions. Some of the conditions include emotional dysregulation, bipolar disorder, depression and mood disorder, anxiety disorder, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma disorder, and dissociative identity disorder (DID).
The outpatient treatment programs at ReConnect are supplemented by supportive housing for clients who are attending their most intensive levels of care. PHP meets 5 days per week for 5 hours per day, consisting of both group and individual therapy. There are varying levels of IOP ranging from 9-15 hours per week, with an evening IOP option available. Supportive housing is available voluntarily to clients for room and board, providing a safe and stable home-like environment monitored 24/7 by staff. Supportive housing is currently only available for women, but referrals can be made for males in need of these services at a trusted partner program.
There are 4 semi-private rooms and 1 private room with 1 private bathroom. Clients can bring and have access to their laptops and cell phones on a regular basis with flexible technology rules. ReConnect provides food for all meals that clients will prepare for themselves and eat as a community, with some dietary special requests available. On the weekends, clients are invited to participate in community outings such as beach trips, manicures, shopping, and going to museums.
ReConnect Trauma Center is committed to providing treatment that involves regular 1-on-1 therapy sessions with master or doctoral level physicians who specialize in the treatment of trauma. Family involvement allows family members and spouses to participate in treatment when appropriate, receive education, and encourage support and connection.
