About Serenity Treatment Center - Frederick
Guided by a mission to help individuals and families overcome alcohol and substance use disorder (SUD), Serenity Treatment Center - Frederick is an outpatient treatment center for adults with drug addiction, alcohol addiction, opioid use disorder, and co-occurring disorders. Care includes intensive and traditional outpatient treatment, DUI/DWI education, family counseling, peer mentoring, drug and alcohol testing, and medication access for opioid use disorder, with morning, evening, and Saturday hours.
Strengthen Change With Care
Serenity Treatment combines evidence-based and holistic outpatient care to help adults build recovery skills while continuing work, school, and family responsibilities. Treatment may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), group therapy, 1-on-1 counseling, relapse prevention, stress management, and 12-Step meetings. For opioid use disorder, Serenity Treatment can administer Vivitrol and the Bridge device on-site, and provides referrals for medications such as Lucemyra and Suboxone when outside prescribing is needed.
Continue Recovery In Residence
The Frederick location also connects adults to Serenity Treatment’s residential programs in the city: Admiral, Apollo, and Morpho for men, and Luna for women. These programs serve people who need more structure than outpatient care alone. Residents live in a staffed setting while receiving clinical services, peer guidance, life skills training, case management, and transportation for key needs.
Center Overview
Supportive Medication for Recovery
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling to treat addiction. The medications are used to reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, or block the effects of substances. More about MAT
Methadone
Naltrexone
Buprenorphine
This center accepts patients receiving MAT prescribed elsewhere for opioid use disorder, but does not provide MAT.
Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
