About Safe Harbor Behavioral Health
Set within Gloucester’s historic harbor community, Safe Harbor Behavioral Health helps adults address anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and addiction through full-day and half-day programs. Both programs combine groups therapy with individual counseling session each week, while flexible scheduling helps clients continue work, family, and daily responsibilities, giving clients several ways to stay engaged in treatment.
Blend Therapy with Wellness
Safe Harbor uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), and prolonged exposure therapy (PE), along with individual, group, and family therapy. They also incorporate psychoeducation, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), yoga, art therapy, equine-assisted therapy, massage therapy, and psychiatric medication management to support coping, symptom management, and day-to-day functioning.
Stay Connected Through Recovery
When clients need detox before outpatient care, Safe Harbor helps clients arrange placement with trusted detox programs in and around Gloucester and supports their transition into treatment. This center also extends care through daily groups, weekly individual counseling, case management, lunch, psychiatric nurse practitioner access, and an aftercare program with weekly individual therapy, a full day of group therapy, alumni activities, and peer support. Program hours run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with evening programming from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
