About Pine Rest Treetops Pediatric Clinic
Within the Pediatric Center of Behavioral Health in Grand Rapids, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services’ Treetops Pediatric Clinic treats emotional, behavioral, and developmental conditions through outpatient care for patients ages 0-21. Clinicians address anxiety, depression, anger, and disruptive behavior, alongside ADHD, autism and intellectual developmental disorders. They also treat eating and substance use disorders (SUD), suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and trauma-related difficulties. Their work extends to parent-child conflict and school adjustment.
Assessments, Therapy, and Psychiatry
Clinicians conduct psychological and neuropsychological assessments alongside psychiatric evaluations and medication management. Therapists provide individual sessions and use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including enhanced CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), radically open DBT, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention. They also use trauma-focused CBT and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Families can request telehealth appointments for therapy and psychiatry, and the clinic stays open until 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Parent-Child Therapy and Groups
Therapists involve families through parent-child interaction therapy and emotionally focused family therapy, while the clinic provides education for parents and caregivers. Group options include PEERS® and Regulating Together. Beyond the clinic’s outpatient appointments, separate mental health and eating disorder day treatment (PHP) programs share the Pediatric Center with inpatient services. Providers across these services coordinate transitions between levels of care as a child’s clinical needs change.
