Merakey North Fair Avenue

Improving recovery, daily functioning, and community independence, Merakey North Fair Avenue is a behavioral health and developmental services center for adults with mental health conditions and people with intellectual or developmental disabilities. They address psychiatric symptoms, emotional distress, behavioral needs, communication challenges, and barriers affecting work, relationships, housing, self-care, and community life.

Coordinate Health and Independence

They provide therapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, case coordination, behavior planning, employment preparation, daily-living skill development, and community habilitation. For adults with dual diagnoses, they also coordinate physical healthcare, housing support, crisis assistance, personal safety, and relationships. Their integrated approach helps people build emotional stability while strengthening the practical skills needed for greater independence.

Merakey began in Philadelphia in 1969 as The Northwest Center, later became NHS Human Services, and has grown into a multi-state provider serving 12 states across behavioral health, autism, addiction recovery, intellectual and developmental disability, education, foster care, aging, and veteran services.
