La Luna Center - Boulder
About La Luna Center - Boulder
Located just outside of Goose Creek Pond and Greenway, La Luna Center treats adults (18-64) with eating disorders through outpatient programs that combine therapy, nutrition counseling, and structured meal support. Founded in 2004, the center runs day treatment (PHP) Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Clients attend individual and group therapy, work with registered dietitians, practice eating meals and snacks with staff, and return home each day.
Therapy and Nutrition Support
Clinicians use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to address eating patterns, food-related fears, and emotional regulation. Registered dietitians help clients develop regular eating routines and manage nutrition concerns. Day treatment also includes psychiatric evaluations and medication management when needed. The virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides three-hour sessions three or four days weekly and follows a 15-week program.
Flexible Care and Insurance Options
Clients can attend in-person day treatment or participate in virtual sessions from home, depending on their treatment needs. The virtual program allows adults to manage work, school, and family responsibilities while receiving treatment. They also hold free family education sessions about eating disorders and recovery. They accept commercial insurance and select Medicaid plans. Admissions staff help verify benefits, explain estimated costs, and arrange free initial consultations.
