About SEARHC - Comprehensive Addiction Services Juneau
Near the base of the Juneau icefield, SEARHC - Comprehensive Addiction Services Juneau serves adults 18 and older across Southeast Alaska struggling with opioid, alcohol, stimulant, and other drug dependencies. Comprehensive Addiction Services, Juneau SEARHC is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Qualified addiction professionals conduct clinical assessments and build treatment plans delivered through in-person and virtual formats.
Opioid Treatment and Medications
They treat adults who meet criteria for moderate or severe opioid use disorder through a combination of medication and counseling, using 2 medications: Buprenorphine, a dissolving tablet or sublingual film placed under the tongue, and Methadone, provided daily as a liquid. Clients also participate in individual sessions, group services, and support for strengthening family and community recovery networks.
At-Home Dosing and IOP
Alongside in-clinic care, they operate an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and a virtual at-home dosing option through a partnership with Sonara. Methadone patients scan a tamper-aware label and record a video of themselves taking their medication, which the care team reviews remotely. This allows for daily oversight without requiring travel to the clinic. The program is federally certified by SAMHSA, the DEA, the Alaska Board of Pharmacy, and the State Opioid Treatment Authority.

Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
