About Helen Farabee Centers - Wichita IDD Authority Services
As the Local Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Authority (LIDDA) for its North Texas service area, Helen Farabee Centers' Wichita Falls IDD Authority Services helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those dually diagnosed with mental illness, access the programs and supports that improve their quality of life. Serving as the central point of entry for IDD services, the authority determines eligibility, enrolls individuals into programs, and coordinates ongoing care.
Services include intake and screening, eligibility determination, and service coordination, along with IDD crisis intervention and therapeutic supports, management of the statewide and local interest lists for the Home and Community-based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living Medicaid waivers, and Pre-Admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) for nursing facility admissions. The team also supports school-to-adult transitions, continuity of care across waiver and community programs, permanency planning for children, and Community First Choice services that help individuals live independently.
