Built around several distinct outpatient programs, HealthyMinds combines general mental health treatment with psychiatric medication management, substance use care, and psychosocial rehabilitation. Clinicians work with children, adolescents, and adults and treat concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, eating disorders, and substance use disorders (SUD). Their medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program addresses alcohol, opioid, stimulant, and cannabis use disorders, including co-occurring depression, anxiety, PTSD, and insomnia.

Assessment, Therapy, and Medication

Clinicians assess new clients at the first appointment and develop treatment plans that may include individual or group psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, and recovery support. Therapists use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and EMDR. For opioid use disorder, providers use buprenorphine-based medications. They also conduct ASAM assessments and coordinate referrals when clients need detox, residential treatment, IOP, PHP, or inpatient psychiatric care.

Community and First Responder Programs

HealthyMinds provides Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) across Dane, Jefferson, Rock, and Walworth counties for children, adolescents, and adults with persistent or severe mental health or substance use disorders (SUD). They also run a dedicated first responder program for law enforcement and emergency service agencies, with individual and family counseling, annual wellness checks, critical incident defusings and debriefings, peer support development, onsite mental health support by contract, and agency training related to occupational stress and trauma.
