About *Closed* Foundations Chicago
Foundations Chicago focuses on co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. In the 1980s and 1990s there was a separation of mental health and addiction treatments, and not many providers were equipped to handle both. This led to Foundations Associates opening in 1995 as a nonprofit organization treating homeless men who had addictions and schizophrenia in a small 8-bed group home in Nashville, TN. For over 25 years, Foundations Associates has been helping people achieve their recovery goals. The Foundations Chicago location helps people through an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Foundations Chicago uses comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, trauma-focused, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies to assist those seeking recovery. Foundations Chicago is a NAATP Member, Joint Commission accredited, and CARF accredited.
Foundations Chicago is a block away from the Chicago Riverwalk and the Civic Opera House. Chicago Foundation believes in the value of holistic care to treat the whole person. Massage, yoga, meditation and mindfulness are all ways Foundations Chicago hopes to inspire the healing of the mind, body and spirit alongside evidence-based therapies. They also offer a recovery zone, that is, a patient lounge offering videos, a lending library and Internet access. They accept most major private insurance providers.
