About Empowered Treatment
Food is only one part of the picture at Empowered Treatment, a locally owned, adult eating disorder facility. The program treats clients experiencing anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, other specified feeding or eating disorder (OSFED), avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and eating disorders intertwined with trauma and co-occurring mental health concerns.
Address Eating Disorders From Multiple Angles
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) structures care around 9 hours of treatment each week, alongside weekly individual therapy. Group therapy, daily process groups, nutrition counseling, personalized meal plans, dietitian-led food groups, supported meals, family education, and yoga address eating disorder symptoms. Clinicians use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS)-informed therapy, somatic therapy, and family work. A day treatment program (PHP) is also launching soon, adding a higher level of outpatient care.
Prepare For Life Beyond The Program
Real-life practice extends beyond the treatment room, with experiential outings that include grocery shopping, restaurant meals, meal planning, and exploring Austin through a recovery lens. Coaches help clients navigate daily life and build skills, while transitional housing in nearby Hyde Park bridges residential treatment and independent living.
