About Braincare Performance Center - Carlsbad
Veteran-owned and led by a Navy veteran physician, BrainCare Performance Center Carlsbad focuses on personalized brain health care for active-duty military members, veterans, their families, and other clients. The outpatient clinic uses qEEG-guided magnetic e-resonance therapy (MeRT) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to address concerns such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Start with Brain Mapping
The clinical team begins with quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) brain mapping and an electrocardiogram (EKG), with initial testing typically taking about 45 minutes. rTMS sessions typically last 20-40 minutes, while MeRT follows 2-week treatment blocks with sessions 5 days per week and repeat testing to track progress. Clients receiving rTMS can also meet one-on-one with a therapist as part of their treatment. Therapists help clients recognize thought and behavior patterns, process difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, and address challenges affecting daily life and relationships. They use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed therapy to complement rTMS treatment.
