About NorthStar Transitions
NorthStar Transitions offers dual diagnosis addiction treatment for men and women in gender-specific homes in Boulder, Colorado. NorthStar Transitions provides a full continuum of care including non-medical detox, intensive outpatient (IOP), day treatment, and outpatient services. They also have specialty programs geared toward the specific needs of professionals, young adults, and military personnel. NorthStar Transitions uses a holistic, "step down" approach to treatment. The treatment length is usually 90 days, and clients will have the opportunity to engage in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), life skills training, experiential therapy, 12-Step facilitation, and meditation and mindfulness training. After completing residential treatment, NorthStar clients may enroll in partial hospitalization (also called “day treatment”). More structured than outpatient care, PHP lasts 1 to 4 weeks. After completing a rigorous daytime schedule, clients return home or to a sober living community at night.
