About New Focus Academy
New Focus Academy is a residential support school for adolescents ages 12-18 with autism. Their mission is to help adolescents improve independence, build self-esteem, and develop healthy relationships. They offer individualized education programs, life skills training, individual therapy and coaching, experiential therapies, and social development groups. New Focus Academy uses a structured schedule which allows for a predictable atmosphere and routine. On a weekly basis, students participate in academics and study hours, therapy sessions, physical activities, group therapy, and weekly recreational outings to activities like rock climbing, a ropes course, and biking. They offer small class sizes and 2 students per dorm room to help students build their independence, relationship skills, and social support. New Focus Academy is accredited by Cognia and utilizes a practicality-based curriculum to help students develop skills that will help them succeed in the world.
