Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center

A 10-bed acute care unit treats adults who need psychiatric stabilization or medical detoxification, including those experiencing suicidal ideation, severe anxiety, hallucinations, paranoia, depression, or mood swings. At Tamarack Health Ashland Medical Center, the same behavioral health service also provides medical detoxification for alcohol, stimulants, opiates, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs, alongside outpatient treatment for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

Treatment Through Stabilization and Discharge

Staff assess each patient and build a treatment plan around the concerns that led to admission and the person’s recovery goals. During inpatient care, the team addresses physiological, psychological, spiritual, and social needs through structured therapy and group support. They also provide intensive therapeutic intervention to help patients move from hospital care back home, giving the inpatient program a clear stabilization and transition focus rather than a longer-term residential model.

Outpatient Care Across Age Groups

Children and adolescents receive counseling and group therapy for ADHD, anxiety, conduct disorders, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and court or custody evaluations, with care shaped by both the child’s needs and family goals. Adult outpatient services include counseling, medication management, and treatment for mental health concerns, co-occurring conditions, alcohol and drug problems, and gambling addiction, with plans that account for work, home, and family routines.
