About Herndon Recovery Center Residential
Herndon Recovery Center, led by Dr. Satnam Atwal MD, treats adults and young adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Services include residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and medically monitored detox. The program accepts just six clients at a time, allowing for a more focused and personalized treatment experience. The center is CARF accredited and led by a board-certified psychiatrist in addiction medicine.
Treatment uses evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and 12-step facilitation. Clients take part in individual, group, and family counseling, with integrated mental health support and education. Family involvement is encouraged throughout care to help build a stronger foundation for recovery.
Clients live in a quiet, residential home in Fresno with five bedrooms compliant with accessibility standards under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The home includes a backyard, enclosed patio, and on-site meals prepared for dietary needs. Smoking and vaping are allowed in designated areas, and staff are available 24/7. Transportation support and social services assistance are also offered.
