Ituha Stabilization
About Ituha Stabilization
Named after a Coast Salish word meaning “sturdy oak”, Ituha Stabilization reflects the steady support it provides during moments of crisis. In Oak Harbor, Washington, the facility helps adults facing substance use and mental health challenges regain stability through short-term care that addresses alcohol use, opioid use, and co-occurring behavioral health concerns in one setting. Clients receive withdrawal support, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), peer guidance, and individual planning focused on stabilization and next steps for care.
Regaining Stability
Care takes place in a 10-bed treatment setting where adults typically stay 3-7 days while addressing urgent substance use and mental health challenges. During that time, a crisis stabilization team works closely with each client to manage withdrawal symptoms, monitor progress, develop safety plans, and coordinate ongoing treatment and community support. Peer specialists with lived recovery experience provide additional guidance as clients explore treatment options and recovery resources. The stabilization program is designed to maintain stability during a critical period while clients prepare to transition for the next stage of recovery.
