About Cuan Mhuire Bruree
One of the most significant advancements in the field of addiction treatment is the unique and experientially oriented approach offered by Cuan Mhuire. As the largest nonprofit provider in Ireland, Cuan Mhurie desire is to help those struggling with addiction and gambling addiction find hope, health, and lasting recovery. The Cuan Mhuire Program, which is based on the principle of complete abstinence, works to rebuild each participant's self-esteem, self-respect, and feeling of responsibility. Treatment involves life skills, education, group and family therapy, and individual counselling.
Participants move through a structured 12-week treatment for alcohol and a 20-week gambling/ addiction program for substance misuse. Cuan Mhuire continues to offer assistance after treatment. Their 2-year aftercare program continues to help individuals and their families in recovery. Since its founding in 1966 by Sr. Consilio, Cuan Mhuire has treated approximately 100,000 people.
The treatment facility is located in a former country estate in rural County Limerick, close to the town of Charleville, which is on the boundary between Cork and Limerick. It can currently hold 130 people. There are about 650 admissions to the center each year.
