Center for Discovery Kansas City provides residential eating disorder treatment for adults 18 and older in a supportive, home-like environment. Located in Shawnee, this 12-bed facility serves the greater Kansas City area and offers a higher level of care for those in need. Conveniently near the Kansas City (MCI) Airport, the center accommodates both local and out-of-state clients.
Clients receive evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and exposure & response prevention (ERP). The CARE-CFD Model promotes a weight-inclusive, trauma-focused dietary approach, helping clients develop a healthier relationship with food. Post-treatment support includes aftercare programs, a customized Discovery app, and alumni groups to facilitate long-term recovery.
