About Balance Treatment Center - Ventura
Housed inside the historic Elizabeth Bard Memorial Building, Balance Treatment Center in Ventura supports children, teens, and adults, including LGBTQ+ clients, through mental health treatment with both partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. Clients in PHP attend multi-hour daytime treatment sessions before returning home for the night. IOP delivers a more structured therapy throughout the week that fits around jobs, classes, and family obligations.
Taking Steps Toward Healing
Guided by the belief that healing happens together, the center addresses depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), gender and sexual identity questions, oppositional defiance, and dual-diagnosis substance use issues. They provide individual therapy, group sessions, and multi-family group therapy. Treatment plans draw from diverse methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and mindfulness therapy.
Embracing Every Journey
Balance Treatment Center offers virtual IOP and an 8-week military transitional IOP, as well as a PHP that typically lasts 3 to 4 weeks. The center delivers specialized options for youth ages 6–17, new mothers navigating postpartum depression, and military members transitioning back to civilian life. The center also integrates motivational interviewing (MI), neurofeedback therapy, recreation therapy, nutrition wellness, and stress and health management.
