About Alsana Birmingham - Residential
Serving adults of all genders with well-rounded clinical care that addresses the physical, emotional, and relational aspects of recovery, Alsana operates a network of treatment facilities that treat anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and other eating disorders. Most clients stay 30 to 45 days, receiving 24-hour care delivered by a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, along with individual therapy, a nursing assessment, nutrition counseling, psychiatry services, and group sessions. During their stay, clients can also expect staff-supported meals, weekend outings, and intensive interventions.
Build a Strong Foundation with Holistic Care
In a home-like environment in the Birmingham area, Alsana provides a safe, supportive space for clients to lay a strong foundation for recovery, and also treats co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Treatment is structured around the Recovery Story framework, which views recovery as a journey within the context of a client's own life. Across five chapters, from the initial Prologue through the transitional Epilogue, the framework gives clients, families, and treatment teams a shared language and consistent parameters.
Reclaim Identity Through the Recovery Story
By positioning the client as the main character and narrator, the program helps individuals separate their identity from the eating disorder, reclaim their authentic voice, and stay accountable to their personal goals. Providers often refer clients to Alsana when outpatient care isn't creating meaningful progress, particularly when emotional regulation, identity, and relationships are central to the recovery process.
