About YSS of Story County
YSS of Ames serves as the headquarters for YSS and provides a wide range of services aimed at supporting youth and families in the community. Located in a historic building, the center offers a counseling clinic, emergency shelter, and residential addiction treatment through its Ember Recovery program. These services include mental health therapy, substance use counseling, and crisis stabilization, ensuring that youth in need receive comprehensive care and support.
In addition to these core services, YSS of Ames runs afterschool and summer programs for children, mentoring initiatives, and parenting education for young mothers. The Rosedale Shelter, Iowa's first youth shelter, provides a safe haven for youth in crisis, offering food, clothing, and support. By collaborating with local organizations and Iowa State University, YSS of Ames is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment that helps youth build a brighter future.

Methadone

Buprenorphine
This center accepts patients receiving MAT prescribed elsewhere for opioid use disorder, but does not provide MAT.
Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
